Very curious llike all those who were very expectant for Windows 10, I also keenly watched developments with the above folder, where Windows 10 is going to be downloaded before upgradation. It had grown up to a size of 6. Then it was only 3. I waited and waited but it remained as such inspite of keeping my PC switched on till morning with a reasonably speedy internet connectivity.
But on inspecting Windows Update history I found that the process of updating to Windows have failed on 3 occations. Please see the attachment. For speed of installation I tried the Pendirve first.
But it failed me. I opted for updating. I dared to do this only because I had an Acronis image beckup of my Windows 8.
This time I succeed in getting my Windows 8. It was a hassle free installation otherwise. If you have let hidden files and folders show in the directory, then these could be a part of hidden root directory files important for the OS operation. If you do not wish to see the folders, you can hide the folders by changing the settings:. If you are unable to right-click on them and select Delete, you can use the following commands to change permissions and force-delete them.

I think Windows 10 is free forever. The one year is the time you have to do the upgrade. Once you do it, you can reinstall later if you need to. If you successfully activated it, that is all you need to do. If you ever have to reinstall it from the DVD, just click "Skip" when it asks for a product code.
As the installation progresses, it will check the activation server for that PC and find that it was already activated when you upgraded. You were smart to have an Acronis image of your old system. That is what I use and even though my Windows 10 upgrade was fine, I knew that I could go back in 10 minutes with the image if I needed to.
And I still can. If you need to go back, I think restoring the Acronis image will give you a better result than doing a rollback.
There have been some problems with that I have read about. After 30 days, the windows. Threats include any threat of suicide, violence, or harm to another.
